The British Council, Malaysia
Though The British Council (the “Council”) is
independent to ESU, many programs offered by the Council are very
relevant to the promotion of the use of the English language, and hence
ESU Malaysia and The British Council, Malaysia work together to create
and increase opportunities for their members.
The British Council’s purpose is to build
beneficial relationships between people in the UK and Malaysia, and to
increase appreciation of the UK’s creative ideas and achievements. The
Council, is in fact, recognised as a world authority on English
language teaching and a trusted source of learning opportunities.
Last year, The British Council, Malaysia:
- handled more than 21,000 student registrations
for our English language classes;
- held workshops for more than 1000 teachers
across the country;
- welcomed over 90,000 Malaysians to our

10,500 Malaysian students in the UK;
- dealt with more than 27,000 education enquiries
across the country;
