Datin Glenis was born in Manchester, England. Both her parents were school-teachers. She attended Cheadle Hulme School where the intricacies of English grammar, punctuation and composition were thoroughly taught.
She went on to Edinburgh University in Scotland, where she obtained an M.A. in French and Latin. Thereafter, she returned to Manchester to do a post-graduate course in the Teaching of the Deaf. For four years she taught at the Manchester Schools for the Deaf.
Marriage and motherhood in Malaysia followed. Here, she is a keen member of the Kuala Lumpur Speakers’ Club; and of the Association of British Women in Malaysia wherein she runs their Library and takes an active part in their drama productions. She is a member of several choirs, including the select Cantus Musicus. Her other hobbies include avid reading, solving cryptic crossword puzzles, handicrafts, travelling and attending concerts and plays.
In this workshop, she will investigate and reveal some of the odd rules of the English language, (grammatical, usage and otherwise!). Come for an evening of learning made FUN!
